- Scope of shipped inventory: security, operational continuity, customer service and cost control by system and department
- On-board stock typologies: technical spare parts, consumables, hotels/F&B, safety equipment, tools and critical equipment
- Classification by Criticality and Rotation: ABC/XYZ, Operational Criticity, Lead Time, Obsolescence and Service Levels Objectives
- Coding and standardisation: SKU, nomenclature, units of measure, lots/series and rules of high/low articles
- Traceability and Evidence: Logs, Logistics Log, Reception/Consumption Documentation, and Master List Versions Control

On-board warehouse design: zoning, safe stowage, environmental conditions and operational accessibility
- Risk and compatibility zoning: technicians, chemicals, food, textiles, waste and mandatory segregations
- Stowage principles and fastening: stability, lashing, vibration, ship movements and prevention of internal transport damage
- Layout and accessibility: locations, hallways, signage, efficient picking and reduction of search times in real operation
- Controlled environmental conditions: temperature, humidity, ventilation, corrosion, protection against saltpeter and conservation by families
- High value storage management: Access control, Blind inventory, Custody, Records and Internal Audit
