Curriculum

Programme Structure

The programme is structured in 5 modules, listed below in order of study.

01

Technical improvement of windsurfing, comprehensive equipment control and performance optimisation under variable navigation conditions

  • Advanced posture review, dynamic balance and load distribution to maximise control, speed and efficiency on the table
  • Fine adjustment of the sail, boom, mast foot, fins and straps according to wind intensity, water condition and technical objective of the session
  • Advanced Tightening, Cross and Long Techniques with Focus on Navigation Angled, Useful Power and Speed Reduction
  • Control of sustained glide and efficient transition between acceleration, stabilisation and deceleration phases in high-level navigation
  • Technical reading of the behaviour of the equipment under aerodynamic and hydrodynamic pressure to correct imbalances and improve response
02

Advanced manoeuvres, dynamic transitions and high-level turning techniques in performance windsurfing

  • Improvement of advanced tack with emphasis on speed continuity, body placement and control of the candle in the transition
  • Advanced Translucking Technique in Gliding: Entry, Carving, Feet Change, Hand Change and Stable Output with Impulse Conservation
  • Manoeuvres of fast and controlled turning in different wind intensity and water conditions: Chop, Flat Water and Mar formed
  • Coordination between gaze, trajectory, pressure in cantos and management of the candle to execute fluid and efficient transitions
  • Frequent error correction in advanced manoeuvres: loss of speed, over-opening, poor timing and unbalance during turning
03

Navigation in demanding conditions, strong wind management and technical adaptation to the state of the sea

  • Material control techniques in strong wind: load reduction, compact posture, shock absorption and intense gust management
  • Adaptation of the navigation style to different surface conditions: short chop, crossed waves, messy sea and gusty wind
  • Advanced water wind reading: gusts, dead zones, pressure variations and tactical use of the navigation field
  • Management of speed and safety in high physical and technical navigation with risk and wear control
  • Techniques for maintaining stability and direction in agitated water scenarios without compromising manoeuvre or travel efficiency
04

Sports performance, regatta strategy and tactical optimisation in competitive or high-level windsurfing

  • Tactical Fundamentals of Advanced Windsurfing: Positioning, Travel Reading, Wind Harnessing and Control of the Adversary
  • Exit strategies, initial acceleration and starting line location to maximise competitive advantage from the start of the test
  • Tactical management of the boards: field side choice, role control, coverage and exploitation of wind changes
  • Optimisation of performance in stern and stern courses with emphasis on VMG, pace of navigation and energy efficiency
  • Decision making under pressure in crossover, dialing, forced manoeuvreing and adaptation to sudden changes in the scenario
05

CapStone Project of Technical Execution, Advanced Navigation and Improvement Plan in High Performance Windsurfing

  • Definition of the case study: athlete profile, current technical level, usual navigation conditions and advanced improvement objectives
  • Evaluation of material, trim and base technique to identify strengths, weaknesses and critical areas of intervention
  • Design of an advanced session or microcycle of manoeuvre-oriented training, strong wind control and tactical performance
  • Development of a navigation strategy adapted to the selected environment: wind reading, selection of boards and execution of key manoeuvres
  • Definition of indicators of technical, physical and tactical progress to evaluate evolution and consolidation of the advanced level of the windsurfer
