Navalis Magna Institute (NMI) operates under an international leadership model, designed to ensure that every academic, administrative, and research decision meets the highest global standards. Our structure is divided into Principal Authorities and an International Academic Council, both committed to innovation, excellence, and the preparation of maritime leaders with a global reach.

1. Rector Internacional – Prof. Dr. Marina Leclerc (Francia)
With over 30 years of experience in naval engineering and the management of international educational institutions, Dr Leclerc leads NMI, ensuring that all programmes are globally relevant and meet international standards. Under her leadership, NMI has established strategic agreements across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, solidifying its position as a leader in maritime education.
2. Vice-Rector of Maritime Research and Development – Dr. Hiroshi Takeda (Japan)
A specialist in marine renewable energy and smart fleet technology, she leads the innovation laboratories and applied research projects, fostering collaboration with shipyards, shipping companies, and regulatory bodies worldwide.
3. Dean of Academic Programs and International Masters – Prof. Laura Moreno (Spain, Valencia)
With experience in port logistics and teaching at European universities, she oversees the quality and updating of all academic programmes, ensuring that the master’s and diploma courses are aligned with the demands of the global maritime sector and tailored to the European context.
4. Dean of Student Experience and Professional Development – Dr. Samuel Carter (United Kingdom) operativo
Responsible for mentorship programmes, international internships, and professional skills development. She ensures that each student has access to practical experiences with shipping companies and international ports.
5. Director of Maritime Innovation and Startups – Eng. Ana Sousa (Portugal)
In charge of NMI’s startup incubator, she promotes sustainable maritime technology projects and establishes partnerships with shipping companies and strategic ports.
